Yearbook Update

 In Yearbook

Good afternoon and welcome to week 12!

It’s been a crazy couple of week and we’ve been swamped! Between the homecoming dances, half-days, spirit week, etc. Yearbook has had it’s hands full. We’ve been working diligently on collecting photos from our sports events as we’re wrapping up our seasons.

With the lull coming up between fall and winter sports, we have the awesome opportunity to complete our academic and elective pages to make our lives easier down the line. There are obviously some things we can’t complete until the events come up i.e. cultural fair, STEM fest, etc. but we could possibly finish nearly 60 % of the yearbook by winter break.

That being said, there are a lot of students who are either doing the bare minimum, or not participating at all. There are several ways to earn points for class: Twitter posts on our sports teams, writing game recaps, doing the livestreams, taking pictures at games/events, working on the yearbook pages, etc and despite these opportunities some are not taking advantage. For example. Nobody signed up to take photos during our senior night for football, but I saw students from the class at the game; when this happens, I have to take the photos myself which isn’t really fair.

These efforts will be reflected in the gradebook when I get caught up this week. These points are NOT easy to make up either, so make sure to speak with your child about their contributions to the yearbook.

What’s new with Mr. Dudek?
Well, the Legendary Dad Bod competition is still going on. Votes can be cast here. I’m hoping to use the prize money to go to grad school for my masters degree. Peter finished up his volleyball season with winning the championship. He’s started soccer now and his team won their first game last weekend. Myla is trying out different gymnastics and dance classes. I think she’s doing a hip-hop class now. The baby is home sick with pink eye at the moment but other than that she’s all over the place and becoming quite the daddy’s girl.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
