Yearbook Update

 In Yearbook

Good morning Roadrunners and welcome to week 2!

I’m very excited for this year’s yearbook and we have quite the staff to make it bigger and better than ever. This is my second year at San Tan but my sixth year as a yearbook advisor.

Our goals for the class are to teach all the skills necessary in the first nine weeks of school for completing the yearbook on time. We’ll be learning camera techniques, layout, design, AP-Style journalism writing, interviewing, etc.

Last week we did an open critique of last year’s book and began to think about what roles fit us for the yearbook.

It is not an easy task, creating the yearbook and will require time outside of class to complete it. Since most events occur after school and offsite (like athletics), there will be times students will be expected/assigned to cover games/performances/etc.

I always like to caution students taking yearbook that the majority of the work is outside class and has strict deadlines to ensure a completed yearbook.

This week we’re going over basic vocab/terminology, goal-setting, and building teams for the different areas of the yearbook.

I hope you have a wonderful week and please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
