Yearbook Update – Post Spring Break
Good afternoon and welcome to Week 30!
We’ve made it to the final semester of the year and what that means for us is roughly four weeks to finish the yearbook. I’ll be honest, we aren’t close to where I’d like to be sitting comfortably. It is going to be a difficult four weeks to get the yearbook in on time so every day the students need to be on top of their pages. The final grade in class is reflective of the pages they’ve been assigned, so if a page isn’t completed or missing elements it will affect their final grade.
We have more than enough photos to complete all of our fall and winter sports pages (minus basketball since they’re still going). I’m still waiting on winter team photos from Dorian. Spring sports start home games this week. Baseball and volleyball are tonight (3:45 for baseball, 5:30 for volleyball).
I want the focus to be completing the pages we’ve already started rather than gathering content for new ones, so until I start seeing pages get completed we will not be sending photographers to games. If we follow the timeline below we should finish the yearbook on time:
This week: Fall Sports & Events (STEM Fest/Cultural Fair)
Next week (3/22-3/26): Winter Sports
Following week (3/29-4/2): Electives
Final Week (4/5-4/9): Spring Sports
If we start interviewing and getting the info for the sports the week before and spend the week writing we should finish on time. Its going to be difficult, and if we don’t finish we’re going to have to look at staying after school to complete pages.
What’s new with Mr. Dudek?
I didn’t really have a spring break. Boys volleyball practiced every day, girls club practiced in the evenings, I did the announcing for the basketball playoff game on Wednesday and had a club tournament on Saturday. No rest for the weary.
As always, if you any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out,
Go Roadrunners!
