Yearbook Update
Happy Week 18!
I cannot believe we only have three weeks until winter break; time sure is flying by!
This week we’re going live with our online sales, which is exciting! I’m pushing the students to get some page design started and to stress the importance of completing work on deadlines so I’m probably going to make designing a yearbook page a part of the midterm. Since computers are scarce in the class, the students will partner up by their interest in a particular page. There are about 10 sections to complete so I’ll be having them work in small groups and each group has to divide up responsibilities such as writing copy, photo selection, layout design, etc.
By this point in the year the students have been taught everything that they need in order to get the materials for and piecing the yearbook together. My job right now isn’t so much to be teaching, but guiding and facilitating them to work on their yearbook; it’s their baby and they need to take care of it. 🙂
What’s going on with Mr. Dudek?
I had a pretty good Thanksgiving Break. I cooked the turkey via slow-cooker and flavor injection of a herb/spice blend that turned out amazing. We also had a family friend volunteer to take the kids Saturday morning through Sunday evening so I was able to take the wife and baby out for a date night/brunch date. Also got projects done around the house, namely replacing an old ceiling fan with a new one and trimming up my palm trees.
As ALWAYS, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns please feel free to reach out
Have a great week Roadrunners,
~Mr. Dudek
