Sports Broadcasting Update
Happy Week 17!
This past week we worked on some exercises designed toward getting the students to think more about the focus, sources, and types of questions we ask for a story.
With a shortened week due to Thanksgiving, I decided to do a smaller-scale, quicker, more fun video. The students are making videos in an interview format for something Thanksgiving related. It’s open to them what they want to write about, but I suggested traditions, favorite foods, and plans for Thanksgiving break.
As a reminder:
*With 34 students in class I cannot assign 34 different stories each week. Whether it is writing player/coach profiles, student-athlete of the week, preview, recaps, or feature stories, the students are to come up with their topics, conduct interviews, and create their stories.*
They are not restricted to doing written stories either: The studio is open to use before and after school for recording video interviews/broadcasts. Our online students can reach out to coaches, players, look at our MaxPreps pages, and “report from home” using their room as their broadcast studio.
What’s going on with Mr. Dudek?
Club volleyball has open gym on Saturday so I’ll be doing that for a few hours on Saturday. My kids are wanting some more one-on-one time since I’m so busy, so I’ve started taking the kiddos with me on errands. We went to the races last week, car show next weekend, movie time, etc.
As ALWAYS, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns please feel free to reach out.
Have a great week Roadrunners,
~Mr. Dudek
