Sports Broadcasting Update

 In Uncategorized

Welcome to week 31!

It was an exciting post season for the boys basketball team making it all the way to the semi-finals their first year in the AIA and things just keep on trucking for Sports Broadcasting.

With the departure of Ms. Tatum, San Tan will be hiring a new athletic director for the next school year. His or her goal would be to help elevate our sports programs to the same levels we’ve seen success from the boys football and basketball teams as well as the the girls volleyball teams. Before the new AD can step in, our class has the opportunity to really showcase what San Tan Athletics has to offer!

Our goal is to cover as much spring sports as we can. Sport offerings for the JH include girls basketball, co-ed soccer, and swim. At the high school level, we have baseball, golf, beach volleyball, and boys volleyball. While we wouldn’t live stream golf or swim, we should try to get photos/videos to feature on our YouTube channel. If it comes between HS and JH, HS will get the live stream but we still want to film the JH games and upload them to our page as well.

Below you’ll find the link for the Signup Genius for this week, noting the needs of different sports. If we’re not working a game, our job is to find a player/coach to interview to write a profile on, or cover one of the games for a game story. All games are free to get into and with the streaming those home-based learners still have the opportunity to cover the live games via YouTube.

Speaking of interviews, we do still need stories for each of our sports teams for the yearbook. Interviewing and doing a season write-up will not only earn credit for this class but also get your name printed in the yearbook 🙂

What’s new with Mr. Dudek?
Boys Volleyball had an exciting couple of matches to start off the season, but now is when my life gets crazy between coaching two teams and yearbook, and broadcasting, and three kids at home. Thankfully, there’s coffee.

Have a great week roadrunners!
