Film Studies

Good morning Roadrunners and welcome to week 2!

I’m very excited for this new course in film studies. During the course of the year, my goal is to help the students become more critical thinkers of film while also stimulating their creativity and giving them a voice in the world.

Today I’m sending out the course overview as well as the the film list that has been approved by administration. I ask that you please read over it carefully as not every film will be shown but I wanted a diverse film list for class.

That being said, I do want to be sensitive to the maturity of our students with regards to content, so if you have any concerns about a film or it’s value please reach out to me.

Last week we started with basic film terminology regarding camera, sound, and lighting. This week we’re looking at script and how screenwriters develop their stories.
