Film Studies Update

Welcome to week 7!

This week we continued to work on character development. In addition to the protagonist, we also studied what makes a strong foil to our main character in developing an antagonist.

I felt it was time for a change of pace and did a poll to she what movie, based on the film trailer, they’d want to watch next. I included films from every genre and the movies included: The Matrix, Big Fish, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, North by Northwest, Catch Me if You Can, The Dark Knight, Spirited Away, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the film that ultimately got the most votes, Knives Out.

Now that we’re getting a sense of primary characters, we’re going to explore secondary characters and multi-layered plots.

What’s new with Mr. Dudek?
Nothing really since next week. Just spending more time with the kids. My daughter is trying new gymnastics classes and my son only has two weeks left in volleyball. Team C Intramural has it’s first tournament coming up on the 11th so I’ll be busy getting them ready 🙂
