AP World History Update

Welcome to week 32!

We’ve got a shorter week this week and next with a 4-day weekend so we’re going to make the most of it and work on our skills for the AP Exam.

Last week the students worked on their Document Based Question (DBQ), which is worth 25% of the scoring on the AP exam. Since it is the most difficult we decided to start with it so we can practice more if we need to. We also discovered yesterday (Monday) that for the digital version of the AP Exam there is no long essay question (LEQ). This greatly excited them because now we can focus on the content and the two different writing tasks before them: Short Essay Question (SEQ) and DBQ while reviewing content and looking at the skills required to pass the AP Exam.

This week: Unit 2 (Trade Routes: Silk Road, Trans-Saharan, Trans-Oceanic, etc.) SEQ

What’s new with Mr. Dudek?
Girls club volleyball is still in full swing, we have three weekend tournaments in a row in April (including one in Vegas) so that’ll keep my weekends busy. Boys volleyball got our first win and we’re really building momentum. On the homefront, my daughter is almost ready to start walking and my son broke a toilet, so I did some plumbing this weekend too.

Have a wonderful week Roadrunners!
