AP World History Week 31

Good afternoon Roadrunners and welcome to week 31!

It has been a wild time getting back into the swing of things, starting off last week with 3 half days and conferences followed by testing this week for ACT and ACT Aspire.

The good news for AP is, if we’ve kept pace with our readings, we’re done with our textbook. We’ve started to go through AP Classroom’s review videos to talk about the key concepts of each of the units as well as the skills needed for the AP Exam. We’re entering what we call “skill and drill” time, where we beef up our skills with the content and begin drilling for what the exam will actually look like. The six skills are:

1. Developments and Processes – Identify and explain historical developments and processes.
2. Sourcing and Situation – Analyze sourcing and situation of primary and secondary sources.
3. Claims and Evidence in Sources – Analyze arguments in primary and secondary sources.
4.Contextualization – Analyze the contexts of historical events, developments, or processes.
5.Making Connections – Using historical reasoning processes (comparison, causation, continuity and change), analyze patterns and connections between and among historical developments and processes.
6.Argumentation – Develop an argument.

The review videos have activities in them that we’ll use as the framework for skills practice
