Sports Broadcasting Update

Welcome to week 24!

The HS Boys team kicked off its regular season last week so we have a little more work ahead of us. JH Spring sports begins in a couple of weeks and HS Spring sports kicks off the first week of March.

Work is slowly beginning to trickle in and getting updated in the gradebook as soon after receiving it as I can.

Yesterday in class I outlined what the rest of the school year would look like. I’m beginning to post the SignUp Genius for each week well in advance so we have no surprises about when coverage is needed. Students who do not participate in the live streaming will have a sports story to complete on the game. I’m also working with the coaches to get access to the Hudl account so we can start doing stat-taking for the teams as well.

The expectation going forward is that the students in class will rotate who is working each week. There are enough in class that if we had two people at each game then they’d only have to work one game every other week. It isn’t fair to have the same 3-4 students do all of the streaming.

So, between the livestreaming, story writing, and statistics we should have plenty to do in class.
