Sports Broadcasting Update
Happy Week 19 everyone!
I cannot believe we only have a week and a half till winter break; the end is in sight!
This week marks our final project for the semester. Students have been given three different options for how to complete the final. I made this decision due to the varying circumstances that are in-person vs. home-based learning, those with computers vs. those without computers. The options include a) recording a voiceover of a sporting event as if they were broadcasting it b) filming a Sportscenter-type video discussing sporting events (either professional or San Tan), or a written article on the same topic.
Also, home winter sports games start this week. I expect students doing in-person to plan on attending the games to either live-stream or do write-ups on the games.
For students doing home-based learning I’ll provide the game times and link so you’re able to tune in and write about the games. If you wish to write/film your own thing just touch base with me so I know what you’re working on.
JH Boys Basketball plays at 5:15 tomorrow, Thursday Dec 10th. The link for the game can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeLna5cSZSyeFbcbK4wonhg
They are not restricted to doing written stories either: The studio is open to use before and after school for recording video interviews/broadcasts. Our online students can reach out to coaches, players, look at our MaxPreps pages, and “report from home” using their room as their broadcast studio.
As a reminder, December 11th is the last day to submit missing/makeup work. Anything received after 4pm that Friday will not be graded.
What’s going on with Mr. Dudek?
That nefarious Elf on a Shelf has reappeared. I’m getting ready for the holiday season, with my in-laws planning on flying in from Wisconsin to check out the new house. Club volleyball has started so I’m staying busy.
As ALWAYS, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns please feel free to reach out.
Have a great week Roadrunners,
~Mr. Dudek
