Yearbook Update
Good evening Roadrunners and welcome to week 14!
I can’t believe it’s NOVEMBER already! It’s as if we blinked and October was gone…
It has been a crazy week for yearbook as the last home athletic events have wrapped up, the Cultural Fair is next week, playoffs are upon us, and Seussical the Musical is the week after!
Since we have our first events really wrapping up our goal is to complete these pages as quickly as possible, ideally within two weeks. I met with our yearbook rep on Thursday and she said last year’s book waited too long to get started, so finishing pages as early as we can makes the end of the year easier on all of us.
This week we started talking about how to package and sell the yearbook. We created surveys to see what the rest of the student population feels is important to them for a yearbook as well as how well that aspect was executed. That feedback should give us some good direction this year. Along those lines, we’re going to be putting together a marketing strategy to promote the yearbook through posters/flyers/handouts, in addition to selling “ad space” to local business and senior pages as a fundraiser. Whether or not we actually do this is still up in the air, but I think it’s fun to consider the “business side” of yearbook.
As always if your student has late/missing assignments please encourage them to get them turned in. I am lenient with the late policy and as long as students turn in quality work it is graded accordingly. HOWEVER, I am not longer accepting work for the first five weeks of school as we are past the 4 week deadline, week 9 is the latest students can turn late work in for.
**I know I’m a bit backlogged on my grading, I WILL have grades completely up to date by Monday. Thank you for your patience!**
What’s going on with Mr. Dudek?
Not much. Volleyball is wrapping up next week; while this saddens me, it has been an exhausting season 🙂
As ALWAYS, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns please feel free to reach out to me.
Have a great week Roadrunners,
~Mr. Dudek
