Happy Week 13 Roadrunners!

We had a very eventful week this past week in terms of content: We had a quiz on Ancient Rome which marked our transition to Medieval Reconstruction Era and the Byzantine Empire. The students worked on projects that looked at the schism Christianity that saw the spilt into Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy, as well as examining ancient laws as the foundation of todays laws. We also geeked out over Byzantine art and architecture: i.e. lots of baby Jesus (Jesi) that have 45-year-old faces on toddler bodies and churches that became mosques.

The Cultural Fair is coming up, projects are due Nov. 5th and the fair itself is on the 6th. If your child hasn’t spoken to you about it yet there is essentially this week for research and next week to put the project together.

Here is a snapshot of this week:
Half Day Wednesday
*Daily bellwork (linked and listed in Classroom)
*PowerPoint on Early Medieval Ages, time to work on cultural fair projects.

I have a lot of quizzes to grade as my student count has gone up. I appreciate your patience as I work through updating grades for my 181 students 🙂

What’s going on with Mr. Dudek?
Busy weekend. My 3-year-old started her gymnastics classes. My son had his first soccer game. I started cleaning out my garage and and getting it organized to epoxy the floor and assemble my shelving.

I hope you have a terrific week,
Mr. Dudek
