World History/Social Studies Update Week 24

In 7th Grade Social Studies, World History

Good morning Roadrunners!

This past week we tackled the effects of the Great Depression leading to the rise of totalitarian dictators. Now we dive into the events of WWII. Last week we did a broad overview of the major events and this week we’ll be looking at specific battles.

The project we’ll take on later this week is scripting/performing a radio broadcast covering the battle of the student’s choosing. We’ll look at some documentary film from WWII and listen to examples of radio broadcasts to give the students a sense of what the times were like. This should give the students a good starting point but will also have to do some other research as well.

What’s New with Dudek?
It was another busy weekend. Peter had a volleyball match, Myla had dance. I had to set up video for the basketball game and then take the family to Phoenix for a kids birthday party. This was all just Saturday! Sunday I had to start checking things off my honey-do list for my nesting wife. This was not easy to work on considering Raelynn is a daddy’s girl and attached to my hip.

Have a great week Roadrunners!
Mr. Dudek
