AP World History Update

 In AP World History

Hello and welcome to week 5!

This past week we finished Chapters 1 &2 in our textbook and have begun working on chapter 3. Chapter 3 also marks the beginning Unit 2. In this unit, we examine networks of exchange from 1200-1450CE. Trade routes in world history provide an excellent area to help students practice and build their Comparison and Continuity and Change skills. A few good areas between trade routes to focus on are technologies, innovations, cultural diffusion, and economic impact.

These trade routes include: The Silk Roads, The Mongol Empire, Exchange in the Indian Ocean, Trans-Saharan Trade Routes, and the cultural consequences of connectivity.

Here is a snapshot of this week:

What’s new with Mr. Dudek?
Weekends are times with the family. I usually try to spend some one-on-one time with each of my kids and this week was my son. After his volleyball game I took him out for a treat and we had a movie night just the two of us. It was his turn to pick and he selected Godzilla. He said he enjoyed and and asked if they made more of them so I guess I have my next few movie nights with him planned out.

I hope you have a terrific week,
Mr. Dudek
